Word to the Wall created this section to answer most
commonly asked questions about our products and services. If you do not find the answer you are looking
for, just contact us.
What type of
lettering is this?
These are pre-pasted, pre-spaced, individually cut letters
that press on your wall or any flat surface.
These are not decals with clear film around the letters, but rather individually cut letters that have
been pre-spaced for you. The letters
arrive on a sheet of paper which adheres to your wall. After pressing the sheet to your wall, you
pull it back and only the lettering remains.
The letters are thin – equivalent to a couple of coats of paint, so they
give you the look of hand-painted stenciling without the time and trouble This is high Quality vinyl that will not fade
or crack.

How do I remove
the lettering? The vinyl is easy to remove.
It works well for both home owners and renters because they come off
when you are ready for them to without damage to your wall. To remove,
pull up a corner of each letter by using your fingernail or tweezers
and gently pull off the
lettering in a downward motion. If your wall lettering has been up for
a longer period of time, you can soften them up by using a hair
dryer to make it easier to remove. If
any sticky residue is left, use alcohol or goo-gone. If you notice any
paint starting to come off with your letters, stop immediately and warm
your lettering with a blow dryer. Peel or curl the vinyl in a downward
motion, rather than pulling straight outward. 10% of wall paint may
fleck off with the vinyl lettering when removing. This is standard for
all vinyl lettering. Word to the wall can not be held responsible
for damage to any paint or surface. We
speak from our experience, and can not insure that all experiences will be the
same. Please wait at least 3 weeks for
new paint to dry and cure before applying letters. Are there any
surfaces this type of lettering won’t work for?
This type of lettering sticks to almost any smooth or
lightly textured surface like painted walls, glass, mirrors and smooth metal
and wood as well as ceramic tile. It
will not stick to rough or uneven surfaces like cinder block, brick or stucco.
What do I do if I
don’t see the font or color I want?
We would be happy to custom design your lettering, color or
art for you. You can custom order your
font or color without any extra costs unless you are choosing a specialty order
color. You can choose different font
styles within a quote and tie it in with some art if you choose. If you would like some advice, just email us
the design you are looking for, and we will send you some ideas.
Are the color
samples on the web page exact matches of the vinyl I will receive?
No, unfortunately, some computer monitors show colors slightly
differently. They are usually a very
close match. Try to pick a colour
selection that will work with your décor.
What spacing will
the quote come in?
Pre-spaced means that we do all the positioning and spacing
of the letters and words for you. When placing your order, simply request how many words you want on each line and how many lines you wish your quote to be as the order form states.
Can I make some
letters larger than others? What if I
want the first letter in a quote to be twice as big as the rest of the letters
in the quote?
Yes, this is a custom order, and we just figure out your
cost as to how many of each size of letters you have.
Can lettering be
made to go over an Archway?
Yes, simply email us before placing your custom order and notify
us of your arch measurements. Your
lettering will then curve perfectly with your archway. We will respond to all emails within 24 hours. There is an extra charge for arching your lettering because of the fact that extra material is used in the process. Please email us for a quote in this case.
How can I know the
length of my quote?
Simply email us before placing your order and we can tell
you the exact measurements. All fonts
produce very different lengths. If you
need a specific length, just let us know and we can help you decide which font
and size of lettering to purchase.
What are my payment
options?
We accept Visa, MasterCard, and Money Order.
How long does it take for an order to process and what are the shipping costs?
Your order is shipped no later than 1 week from the date of your order and receipt of funds. If you are paying by money order or certified cheque, processing of your order will begin immediately upon receiving your payment by mail. Shipping costs are $5.00 - $25.00 per order depending on size and weight for regular mail unless it is picked-up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
